A stone fragment from a walkway, taken from Auschwitz, is stored in a wooden box from Poland. The stone is covered in ash, possibly from the crematorium. The item was given to the University of Michigan by Constance Harris, collector of Jewish artifacts and author of The Way Jews Lived: 500 Years of Printed Words and Images.
