JACKSON, iMss. — (NPI)

—Some 45,230 Negroes went to the polls here, during a pre-election four day mock balloting to pick their favorites in the Presidential election. The returns showed that 45,218 were for Johnson and 12 for Goldwater. The polling, conducted by the Mississippi Freedom Democratic party — barred from operating in the state and also from having its congressional candidates placed on the ballot — covered 34 out of 41 counties, and demonstrated what Negroes who were refused registration, would have done if they had the vote.
