Through Executive Order 83, North Carolina governor Beverly Perdue created the Governor’s Eugenics Compensation Task Force in March of 2011. This final report, submitted by the Task Force on January 27, 2012, outlines recommendations for financial compensation and mental health services to victims of eugenical sterilization in North Carolina and public education outreach for all citizens of North Carolina to prevent similar future actions by the state.
