Lawrence Layden was a captain in the US Army Air Corps. As part of the Sixty-Seventh Tactical Reconnaissance Group during World War II, Layden kept a detailed account of his wartime experience. Layden arrived at the Buchenwald concentration camp just six days after its liberation.
