To promote the Digital Public Library of America to graduate students at the University of Delaware, Tracy and I organized a professional development workshop on “Digital Resources for Research and Teaching Using the DPLA as a Case Study” on April 15, 2014. Graduate students who are gaining first-hand experience teaching classes or leading sections are often looking for new ways to engage their students.

We’re extremely excited to announce our second class of DPLA Community Reps–volunteers who engage their local communities by leading DPLA outreach activities. We were blown away by the response to our second call for applicants, and we’re thrilled to now add nearly 100 new Community Reps to our already-excellent first class, bringing the total roster to 200 strong!

We got such a terrific response to our first call for applications for the DPLA Community Reps program that we’ve decided to do it again! Today, we’ve opened applications for a second class of Reps that will close April 30.

We are so pleased to announce our first class of DPLA Community Reps–volunteers who engage their local communities by leading DPLA outreach activities. We received an overwhelming response to our call for applicants and were able to admit 100 people into the the first class.
