DPLA is pleased to invite members of our Hub Network to these upcoming Brown Bag lunch events. These 45-minute virtual get-togethers are organized around topics of interest or importance to our network and meant to be a chance to reconnect with colleagues and share information in a friendly, casual setting.
Member Brown Bag: Creating the Black Women’s Suffrage Collection

In this brown bag, DPLA director of community engagement Shaneé Yvette Murrain and DPLA developer Audrey Altman will discuss opportunities, challenges and learnings encountered during the creation of the Black Women’s Suffrage Digital Collection. This will include a look at the different strategies they employed to help surface stories about Black women from DPLA’s aggregation of more than 40 million artifacts that are largely by, about, and described by white people and men and will end with a group discussion about related work.
