Support Libraries this National Library Legislative Day
Earlier this week, library supporters from across the country took to Washington, DC for National Library Legislative Day. Attendees learned about legislative issues currently relevant to the future of America’s libraries before meeting with their congressional representatives to prevent budget cuts and advocate libraries.
Distance from DC shouldn’t stop you from getting involved and supporting National Library Legislative Day: this week, the ALA is also promoting its Virtual Library Legislative Day (VLLD) as a way to get involved in library advocacy. VLLD encourages advocates to call or email congress in order to voice their support of our nation’s libraries. So find out more about the issues currently affecting libraries, and let your congressional officials know that you support libraries.
