A note on our forums and email lists

We wanted to let you know that later this week we will phase out the DPLA web forums in favor of our email lists. By focusing on these public lists, we hope to encourage more meaningful conversation among members of our community.

This transition will tentatively happen on Friday, June 20. While users won’t be able to register or post to the forums after that date, we will “freeze” and keep publicly viewable the substantive topics and conversations that took place.

In addition to our existing lists, we have created a general discussion list for the overall DPLA community to communicate with each other. Our staff will do their best to participate, but please note that this list is not designed to serve as a direct line for questions and answers. Rather, it is meant to be a place for conversation about topics related to DPLA and its areas of focus.
