DPLA is looking for volunteers to join our Curation Corps. The DPLA Curation Corps is a group of librarians and information professionals who help to organize our Open Bookshelf offering of public domain and other freely accessible ebooks, as well as coordinate books for inclusion in DPLA’s ebook projects. DPLA relies on the expertise of the library community to create collections patrons will love. Curation Corps tasks and working sessions vary depending on current project needs. Open Bookshelf is generously funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
Curation Corps members:
- evaluate and curate e-content and offer guidance on the development of DPLA’s Open Bookshelf.
- select open access ebook titles that public libraries will find valuable.
- contribute 10-15 hours of their time per month
Curation Corps members receive an honorarium of $425 each quarter.
Ideal candidates will have a master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLS) or related field. The position is open to MLS students or candidates. Candidates must have some knowledge of collection development, cataloging and/or records management.
Please email us if interested.
