Yesterday, we were pleased to host Richard Ovenden, director of the Bodleian Libraries, for a timely conversation with former DPLA board member, author, and Plympton co-founder Jennifer 8. Lee about Ovenden’s book Burning the Books: A History of the Deliberate Destruction of Knowledge. In addition to giving deep historical context to the current movement to restrict access to knowledge, Ovenden highlighted the bravery of librarians and archivists through the ages, reminding us of the role we all must play in ensuring that libraries and archives can continue to play their integral role in our democracy. We encourage you to share this important and inspiring conversation with your friends and colleagues.
