The countdown is on! With DPLAfest 2019 less than two months away, we are thrilled to reveal the full program of sessions, lightning talks, and roundtable discussions. With content on everything from virtual reality and machine learning in libraries and the independent publishing “tidal wave” to community archiving in Queens and best practices for rights statements implementation, DPLAfest will have something for anyone interested in building, sharing, exploring, and innovating in digital content!

Taking place at Chicago Public Library’s Harold Washington Library Center on April 17-18, 2019, DPLAfest will explore how libraries, archives, museums, and other cultural organizations across the country leverage technology to serve, inform, and empower communities.

Register today to join thought leaders from organizations like MIT Press, Internet Archive, the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF), New York Public Library, and Harvard University and DPLA partners including Recollection Wisconsin, PA Digital, Mountain West Digital Library, Minnesota Digital Library, Illinois Digital Heritage Hub, LYRASIS, and more.

In addition to the sessions and lightning talks, DPLAfest 2019 will feature three great plenary sessions that put field leaders in dialogue with each other to discuss the technological, social, and civic demands of the digital age. Stay tuned for more details!
