Announcing our Second Class of DPLA Community Reps

By DPLA, May 15, 2014.

We’re extremely excited to announce our second class of DPLA Community Reps–volunteers who engage their local communities by leading DPLA outreach activities. We were blown away by the response to our second call for applicants, and we’re thrilled to now add 100 new Community Reps to our already-excellent first class, bringing the total roster to 200 strong!

Our second class completes the U.S. map and adds three other countries, bringing local DPLA advocacy to all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Canada, China and Ireland. Our Reps work in K-12 education, public libraries, state libraries, municipal archives, public history and museums, technology, publishing, media, genealogy, and many areas of higher education. They submitted many outstanding proposals for activities like hackathons, classroom activities, professional development workshops, and so much more. We’re eager to support their creative outreach and engagement work, and we thank them for helping us grow the DPLA community!
