Woman cooking on Hotpoint electric range, ca. 1925, in a General Electric advertising photograph. Hotpoint was purchased by GE, along with the Hughes Electric Company in 1918 and were merged to form the Edison Electric Appliance Company. Hotpoint continues to be a GE major appliance brand name.
