Commissioner of Indian Affairs, E. A. Hayt writes to appointed Indian Agent of the Neah Bay Indian Reservation, Captain George D. Hill to state that he has just sent funds for the reservation's school on January 14. Hayt notes that he sends these funds in response to an earlier letter from Hill on December 22, notifying the department that funds for the reservation school had not been received, causing the school to close. Hayt also notes the receipt of a second letter from Hill to Inspector E.C. Watkins notifying him of the same problem. Hayt apologizes for the error and the difficulties it may have caused Hill. He expects that Hill has since received the funds he sent in January and that he has been able to reopen the school and reinstate any employees he may have had to send away. Hayt asks for an account of Hill's actions with the school and the names of employees he has reinstated. less
