  • Description
  • The Association for Rational Temperance writes to Washington State Senator Wesley Jones to request that he help make modifications to the Volstead Act, a law passed to enforce prohibition. They argue that changes should be made to the bill to accomodate hop growers and pickers in fields in Washington State, Oregon, and California. They warn that without changes to the bill, the farmers may be "driven out of business.".
