  • By 1911, it was clear that Seattle City Light's original Cedar Falls power plant on the Cedar River was too small to keep up with Seattle's growing demand for electricity. Workers completed a new masonry dam and powerhouse in 1914. This photo shows the outside of the new powerhouse on the Cedar River.
