  • The SENTINEL, 82 tons and 102 feet long, was built in 1898 by Crawford & Reid of Tacoma for use on the Hunt Brothers' Seattle - Tacoma East Pass route. In 1906 the new Merchants' Transportation Company purchased the SENTINEL for operations on Seattle-Tacoma-Vashon Island routes.
