A photograph of three women skating on a lake. The women are wearing dark dresses and white sweaters. Two are wearing hats. Unidentified wood buildings are behind them. From notes on the item they are believed to be from Petrograd, Russia. The back of the photograph is stamped "Russell 1912" and is presumed to have belonged to or was taken by, and later donated by Charles B. Russell, Class of 1912. A stamped mark on the backside center reads "Russell 1912" and it is believed that this came from Charles B. Russell, Class of 1912. A second stamp says June 25, 1962 which may indicate when these materials came to Springfield College; This photograph was original grouped with another photograph, SC22823. The original catalogers say, "This group is assumed to be a sponsored group of Russians to the college. There had been some YMCA College students who traveled to Petrograd, Russia. The three women on skates are the same three women who are seated in the 1921 group picture. The back of the women skating photograph is stamped "Russell 1912" and is presumed to have belonged to and taken by Charles B. Russell, Class of1912." The two have been separated as no documentation has been found to support this supposition. less
