Letter written by union delegate Yuki S. Kumaniot while in Union Bay, Alaska regarding the attitude other Japanese members of the cannery workers at the Nakat Cannery Corporation have towards the union. Quote from letter: [He is] "glad to report that all of the Japanese members of our crew are tremendously gratified at the effort that union has expended in bringing about the conditions unprecedented in the history of the cannery workers in Alaska. These men bitterly attack the foolishness of a small group of Japanese who in the past months has attempted to cause disruption among the cannery workers for their united front. I have and will in the future try my best to make the Japanese cannery workers realize and understand fully what unionization means.". less
