The rear of the Isaac Funk home, and I-house, which was built in 1842. I-houses were named as such because they were commonly found in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. Isaac Funk built this home after having farmed in McLean County for 20 years. This is the kitchen and service area of a typical Illinois I-house.
