Letters written in April 1863. Authorship ascribed by Peabody Institute catalogue to Reverdy Johnson: they could not have been written by him, since they attack Bradford and denounce Lincoln's policies; in 1863 Johnson supported Lincoln and the administration (although friction occurred in 1864), also Johnson and Gov. Bradford were friendly.
