1870-1871 Chester County Business Directory

County business directory for the years 1870-1871 is divided into section. The table of contents follows the title page. There is a subject list of classified advertisments and a classifed list of sponsoring businesses outside of Chester County; most are in Delaware or Philadelphia. The next section is a narrative on the history of each of the states and territories within the United States. There is a listing of federal, state and county government officials. The section concludes with a listing of post offices locations in Chester County. Following several pages of advertisements is a single page description of West Chester and the listing of busniess, professional groups, and rural farms. The book in incomplete, stopping with page 63, and there are missing pages throught the vailable text.
