Draft of a letter written by John Sevier, governor of Tennessee, on Oct. 9, 1810 to Major Amos Stoddard. In this letter Sevier responds to Stoddard's earlier request for information on the legend of the Welsh Indians. Sevier recollects a meeting he had in 1782 with Cherokee war chief Oconostota in which numerous historical details of the so-called Welsh Indians are related.
