Street in Rome

A narrow street in Rome, Italy. On the left hand side is part of the Basilica of St. Agnes. This church was built in 324 on the same spot where the bones of the martyr were found. The church has been altered and rebuilt many times. Also from one opening inside of the Basilica one descends to the Catacombs of St. Agnes, which dates back from the second half of the 3rd century. They are in a very good state of preservation. Rome, Italy. Date 08/17/1952.
