Part 1, the British 2nd Army captures Hertogenbosch (Oct.). Troops take positions and advance under artillery fire. Infantry fights in the streets; tanks arrive; citizens come from hiding after the battle. Part 2, gliders at Eindhoven, Netherlands, are retrieved by TCC C-47s. Shows Gen. P.L. Williams. Part 3, gun cameras record dog fights and strafings in France by the 8th Air Force. Part 4 (Reel 2), British troops dock in Greece and march into Athens. Shows celebrations, guerrillas, and the return of Prime Minister Papandreou. Citizens buy food with inflated currency. Shows British Gen. Scobie. Part 5 shows activities of Col. Seagrave's medical unit in Northern Burma. Seagrave performs an outdoor operation in the rain. Part 6, animated diagrams show tactics of the 3rd Fleet and 7th Fleet in the naval battles on the Philippines (Oct. 23-24, 29). Explains maneuvers employed in the Surigao and San Bernardino Straits. Shows Japanese planes attacking ships and being downed. The carrier Princeton is sunk. Several U.S. planes make crash landings on a carrier. Navy ace Commander McCampbell lands and is greeted.
