- Description
This is an album of formal photographs of graduating seniors (and one teacher) of Newton High School in 1895 (some from 1896). Each album page has two slots for photographs. Most of the students are identified by names handwritten below the photograph. Newton High School, established in 1859, was located on Walnut Street in Newtonville, a village of Newton, Massachusetts. It was the only public high school in the city until 1960 when a second high school was built. This leather bound album with metal latch and gold leaf page ends probably belonged to Albert S. Partridge. -
