Written on the opposition’s helmets is the world “Owls.” Based on this and their 1985-1986 schedule, it is likely that the opposing team was Southern Connecticut State University. Hyde graduated from Southington High School in Southington, Connecticut. While in high school, he earned varsity letters in football, track, and baseball. He helped the 1982 track team win the Colonial Conference title, competing in the one-hundred and two-hundred meter runs. During college, he played football and made the All-Conference and All-Region. As a senior, he wrote that his post-collegiate goal was to own his own fitness facilities. less
