Dog days at Fire Station No. 5 - Old Puss in Boots got some stiff competition when this handsome litter of Dalmatian pups, born to Queenie, mascot at Fort Wayne Fire Station No. 5, posed with their mother for their first family portrait. Queenie, one and one-half years old, gave birth to the 10 puppies about five weeks ago. Eight other fire stations in the city, presently without mascots, will receive pups from the station as soon as they can be weaned away from Queenie. The city's other two fire houses already have mascots. This photo made the National News Wire. Date 04/17/1951. less
