Original Caption: CAPS MANUFACTURED FOR AMERICAN SOLDIERS. Pattern marking and cutting. The material for overseas caps is first laid out in layers, usually 48 layers to be cut at one time. There are four sections cut for one cap, the shawl, two sided and a tip. Cutting accomplished with electric cutters after the pattern is marked on upper layer. John B.
