  • In this letter to writer, John Emmet Berns, John "Packer Jack" Newman describes his unrequited love for Mollie Walsh, her brief life, and her tragic murder. Mollie was a young woman who ran a roadhouse in Log Cabin, Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush in 1898. Included in this letter is a diagram of Mollie's roadhouse.
