  • Description
  • Slide was taken from the helicopter as we flew in towards the crater. It shows trees, some still standing, but the upper part had been blown off because of the shock wave that came through. These were prime Douglas Fir at Mount St. Helens ready for harvesting. This was a little further away because the trees were not completely blown down, covering an estimated area of 8-10 miles.
