Description | A.C. Little is recognized as the person most responsible for the founding of Raymond. In mid-1902, he joined L.V. Raymond and others to plan the new Siler sawmill and his own 1903 plant, the West Coast Veneer and Manufacturing Company. The West Coast plant soon faltered, was sold, and in 1905 became the Willapa Lumber Company sawmill, a predecessor to the present day Weyerhaeuser Mill W. Other names found for this company include Willapa Harbor Lumber Mills and Willapa Harbor Lumber Company. |
