Actress Miss Aquamarine. From the back: "The Most Difficult Costume in the Movies. Miss Aquamarine, a member of the bizarre 'Ballet of Jewels' in Universal's spectacular picture 'The Midnight Sun,' wears the most difficult costume in motion pictures. It was so described by its designer Miss Alice O'Neill. Eight models were fitted for this costume only to find that it was impossible for them to manage it. Stilts were required to lend the added height, the train was twenty-four feet long, and the headpiece, although constructed of aluminum wire, wighted two pounds. It was necessary to sweep across the stage and mount a series of steps in a graceful manner. This is only one of the bizarre costumes in this dramatic spectacle of Russia before th War, with Laura LaPlante, Pat O'Malley, Raymond Keane, George Siegmann, Arthur Hoyt and others. It was directed by Dimitri Buchowetzki.". less
