I first met them in 1937, when I rode my bicycle from Puyallup over to my sister's house on North Hill. We didn't have a car, so I would come over on my bicycle. There was, of course, no freeways or anything. We'd go on down to Fife, and then to Highway 99, and then peddle all the way to Des Moines. I would do that two or three times a year, because I didn't get to see my sister any other way. She lived up on the--halfway up North Hill. less
