  • Men standing outside storefront to Cheap John's; large Punch advertising figure in front. Caption on back: PUNCH AND 'CHEAP JOHN' - Leaning against the enormous Punch which for years stood before his tobacco and sporting goods store on Purchase street, is 'Cheap John,' a well known New Bedford character of bygone days. He was a Brazilian, by name of John Cunha, and died here in 1909. Date supplied by cataloger.
