Looking to the left of Camp, over the Nisqually Glacier.Camp Misery is at the 11,300 foot level at the base of Beehive Pinnacle near Cowlitz Glacier on the upper reaches of Mount Rainier. It was named by Maj. E. S. Ingraham in 1888 when an expedition which he led to the summit camped there overnight. It proved to be an uncomfortable glacier camp, with icy winds and little protection.
