    In his letter Bulosan explains his reasoning for requesting a stop to the fundraising on his behalf, stating "When we started this campaign for funds it has only one purpose: to help me to return to the Philippines. The members of the Board cooperated wholeheartedly. Yes, I was sure to go back home. Unfortunately, I receive a letter from home telling me that my only brother died. He was suppose to support me. My plan to go back to the Philippines is postponed indefinitely. I am sure you understand that it would be impossible for me to live in the islands. I have more friends here." Bulosan asks that the Board assemble for a final meeting so that the fund can be disbanded and they can discuss what will become of the money already raised. less
