Holograph, signed. George Thompson praises the book, Pride and Prejudice. He was greatly pleased with [Charles] Sumner's speech at the Free Soil meeting. He is going to Amesbury to visit "the American Poet [John Greenleaf] Whittier." The application for Faneuil Hall was not successful; Thompson has received an anonymous letter denouncing him as an incendiary.
