    The original finding aid described this photograph as: [Complete] Scene Caption: Private First Class John Cracuer a field medic and Specialist Lisa Mayer a nurse both from 114th Combat Support Hospital, Saint Paul Minnesota, forms a border with concertina wire during Operation GOLDEN MEDIC 2001 at Parks Reserve Forces Training Area, Dublin, California. Reserve forces from all over the nation are participating in GOLDEN MEDIC, a multi-unit, medical, field exercise in which the Army transports simulated casualties from the frontline through various staging areas to a main tent. Attached to the helmet and upper body is the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) gear to simulate combat. When hit by a laser emiter a loud tone sounds off that signifies the soldier is wounded or dead.
