  • Description
  • The Aurora Speedway originally began as a section of Playland, a popular amusement park located near Bitter Lake in Seattle. In 1932 park owners constructed an oval track and large wooden grandstand fronting Aurora Avenue between North 130th and North 135th Streets. In December 1950, Playland's Aurora Stadium Speedway grandstand was destroyed by fire, and was later rebuilt.
