Drawing, color, pen and ink Succeeding the bell-shaped 'cloche' hats of the 1920's were these flat brimmed hats, shown here in straw and decorated with crepe and flower trimmings. The fashion of the time was to wear the hat tilted to one side, more or less covering one eye and ear. In the 1930's hats were still considered a necessary part of a well-dressed woman’s outfit.
