"The Union Record Shows Its Hand" is a reprint of an article published in the Everett Labor Journal in May 1919. In it, the Seattle Union Record, the official newspaper of the Seattle Central Labor Council, is severely criticized. The article reprints an editorial published in the Union Record on May 5th, and proceeds to argue that it reveals the Union Record's antipathy to the Washington State Federation of Labor (WSFL) -- the editorial at one point is referred to as a "shifty screed". The article further criticizes the recent coverage of the Spokane Central Labor Council in the Union Record, and concludes with a vocal defense of the WSFL and the American Federation of Labor. less
