  • Description
  • A series of Seattle Post-Intelligencer home economists wrote articles and cookbooks under the name Prudence Penny. From time to time, the newspaper ran photos of the fictitious Ms. Penny as she did her grocery shopping or served a meal to friends. In this photo, probably taken around 1940, Prudence Penny shops for produce at Seattle's Pike Place Market.
