The plates of the atlas are from sketches made by Karl Bodmer.
German original, Coblena, 1839-1841, published under title: "Reise in das innere Nord-America ..." The present edition is a reprint of the London edition of 1843, translated by H. Evans Lloyd, with the addition of the Indian vocabularies now first translated from the German edition by Asa C. Tilton.
