After attending the Boston Conservatory of Music, she made several concert tours of the country and did chorus work for several films in Hollywood. In Seattle, she directed the choir at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was killed in an automobile accident in 1934 at the age of 39 along with her husband William. They had been on the Seattle-Tacoma Highway on their way to California. Their passenger, 16-year-old Dorothy Alexander, was thrown from the rumble seat, escaping serious injury. less
