- Description
"Chinese Girl Wants Vote" is a documentary-style short film created about lesser-known suffragist Dr. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee. The project was produced during quarantine in response to growing anti-Asian sentiment since COVID-19 and in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The year 2020 also marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, for American women's constitutional right to vote. Jinna's 5-minute docu-film showcases diverse faces about issues relevant today, and captures key themes of voter rights and immigration in a powerful way. (Description provided by creator.)
