The letter, written by Gordon Hirabayashi's mother, describes Mr. and Mrs. Hirabayashi's trip back to the Tule Lake Camp following their visit to Seattle to testify at Gordon Hirabayashi's trial. Mrs. Hirabayashi writes "Words cannot express my gratitude to all of Gordon's friends for the kindness they have shown him during his many years of friendship and especially since our evacuation. I do not think I could bear the thought of him being left alone in that jail, if it weren't for the many friends he has. Someday when this is over with and peace has again come to all of us, I hope he will be able to pay back all of you by some deed and not disappoint you for all the faith you have put in him.". less
