Two sailors watch from a catwalk as a utility landing craft loaded with Marines backs out of the well deck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS NASSAU (LHA-4) while the ship lies at anchor off the coast of North Carolina. The Marines are departing the NASSAU after beinbg deployed aboard the ship for nearly eight months. During that time, the sailors and Marines of the NASSAU were involved in Operation Sharp Edge in Liberia and Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf region
