David H. Bertram letter to his parents, March 2, 1862
David H. Bertram, a sergeant in the 9th Kentucky Infantry Regiment, derrides the beliefs of the abolitionists and shares his opinion that the Union should be dissolved. He ends by encouraging his mother to take heart that her sons are all well. Written from Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
