  • George Carmack, one of the first three people to discover gold in the Yukon territory, writes to his sister to inform her he received the gun and gold nuggets she sent, which she had been storing for him. He got a letter from his daughter Graphie, who lives with Rose, and fears it is a "trick" related to custody problems he is having with Graphie's mother.
